Our Family. Our Company. Our Products.
February 2, 2018 Stinkbug Naturals

The quality of our products is our most important asset as a company because a healthy and natural lifestyle is one of our core values as a family.

Hey everybody, it’s Jade!

When I was pregnant I wanted to go all natural, and I couldn’t find a deodorant I trust that’s natural enough to use, so I made one, out of my own kitchen.

It’s been quite a journey! 6 years and 3 beautiful children later, we are proud to be in not only our local Giant Eagle, Fresh Market, 300 Natural and independent stores, but we’re also in 55 Whole Foods, and Costco.com!

2018 has been off to a great start with launching in a variety of Wal-Mart stores nationwide and being included in the Goodbeing and Ecocentric Mom subscription boxes!

This is our company and this is my family. Every day is a crazy adventure, but I wouldn’t have it any other way, and when things get busy and hectic I want to make sure that I can trust the products that my family and myself are in contact with.

The quality of our products is our most important asset as a company because a healthy and natural lifestyle is one of our core values as a family. We are one of the very few Non-GMO Project Verified Deodorants out on the market and the ingredients in our products are all completely natural and organic.

Take a look at our top 8 favorite ingredients to use in our products:

1. Organic Coconut Oil

The saturated fats in coconut oil keeps the skin moisturized and the fat also prevents moisture loss through skin pores. These fats give the skin a healthy, smooth and even tone. In addition, the lauric acid in coconut oil also can reduce the risk of bacterial infections, and fungal infections. One of the main ingredients in our deodorants and lip balms is coconut oil.

2. Organic Beeswax

Beeswax is amazing because it forms a protective barrier on the skin (think about the fact that its original function is to protect the cells where baby bees grow and honey is stored!), but it doesn’t “suffocate” the skin or clogs pores. It is also a great source of vitamin A and has a natural honey fragrance. Our lip balmsstick deodorants contain beeswax.

3. Organic Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is full of fatty acids, Vitamin E and antioxidants! It is highly moisturizing and keeps the skin hydrated for long periods of time as it penetrates deep into the skin. Avocado oil also protects your skin from the sun, their good mono-saturated fats forms a protective layer that avoids the skin from getting exposed to the sun. We use organic avocado oil to make our amazing lip balms.

4. Organic Butyrospermum Parkii Butter

Who is not familiar with Butyrospermum Parkii butter? Ok maybe you are not familiar with THAT name, but you know it by its nickname “shea butter”.  It is moisturizing and nourishing for the skin, it also reduces inflammation and softens and strengthens the skin by aiding the natural production of collagen.

5. Hamamelis Virginiana

Better known as “witch hazel”, Hamamelis virginiana is used as a natural astringent which means that it removes oil and dirt from the skin. Amongst many other properties, witch hazel also soothes skin from irritation caused by insect bites and allergies. That’s why you wouldn’t want to leave your house without one of our  hand cleansers that contains witch hazel!

6. Organic Essential Oils

Essential oils have been used for thousands of years in various cultures for medicinal and health purposes. Their benefits come from their antioxidant, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. Our scented deodorants contain a number of organic essential oils, such as tea tree oil and lavender oil, amongst others.

7. Sodium Bicarbonate

Sodium bicarbonate (better known as baking soda) is soothing, neutralizing, and moisture-absorbing . All of our deodorants contain sodium bicarbonate which we use to kill the odor causing bacteria.

8. Organic Zea Mays

AKA cornstarch, has been used for centuries as a natural remedy to treat multiple health conditions, but we use it for its moisture-absorbing properties. Our deodorants contain cornstarch to absorb sweat!

We are beyond grateful for all of your support over the years, and we’re looking forward to a healthy, happy 2018!
